Description
The mission of the Port Austin Historical Society is to collect, preserve and present history of the greater Port Austin area and its "Life along the shoreline.
The Port Austin History Center offers a range of activities to explore the history of the area. Inside, its eclectic appearance mirrors the rich history of people, places and events that have taken shape in the area. The center offers many activities to enjoy the history of this community on the shoreline. Find a name on the Honor & Memory Tree, flip through scrapbooks, research genealogy, try the hands-on Palmer Method display, play checkers, scavenger hunt or amble the flower beds and trails outside. Inside you'll find exhibits on prized trophies, vintage hats, household tasks, farming, air base, lighthouses and more!
The center's gift shop contains fun and educational items including memoirs, puzzles, flags, photographs and more.Admission is free.
