Birds are singing, buds are bursting, and nature is about to explode!
Join the St. Clair County Parks naturalist to search for signs of spring at Goodells County Park on Saturday, March 18, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Meet in the East Parking Lot by the BMX Track.
Venture into the park’s natural areas, where we’ll hunt for the season’s first nests, sprouts and creatures and practice measuring and identifying trees. Kirsten Lyons, St. Clair County Parks Naturalist – Invasive Species Specialist said, “Spring is an exciting time of year to observe nature because so many plant and animal species are waking up, migrating, and searching for food.” All are welcome at this free and family-friendly event. Pre-registration is not necessary. Optional items to bring are binoculars, a hand lens, and field guides. Please dress for the weather and muddy, wet trails. Watch the St. Clair County Parks and Recreation Commission Facebook page for updated information about this event and in case of severe weather.
Goodells County Park is located at 8254 County Park Drive, Goodells MI 48027. Meet at 10 a.m. at the East Parking Lot near the BMX Track. Free parking and rest rooms are available in the park. This event qualifies for two Extension Master Gardener education hours. For more information, contact Kirsten Lyons, klyons@stclaircounty.org, (810) 989-6317.
