VIRTUAL TOURS
Algonac embraces its nautical contributions, being the birthplace of Chris Crafts Boats and the former home of Gar Wood. Situated on the St. Clair River, it has earned the nickname of “The Pickerel Capitol of the World.” Take advantage of the free boat launch and the Algonac Harbor Club, one of the largest deep water marinas accessible by the Great Lakes.
While downtown, stroll along 1,800 feet of boardwalk and find charming shops and restaurants to savor the small-town atmosphere. The Algonac-Clay Historical Museum boasts local history with models of pleasure boats built right in town. There is also ferry access to Walpole Island, Canada. Enjoy a day of freighter watching from the land or cast your line from a boat.
Algonac brings summer events such as the Annual Pickerel Tournament, Algonac Rotary Art Fair and waterfront concerts in the park.
